Alan Sheehan is not expecting any help from his best mate today, as his Notts County side look to beat the drop in League One.
The Magpies will be relegated if they lose at Oldham today – even if Tranmere and Crewe both win.
Latics midfielder James Wesolowski is big pals with Sheehan – but has told the defender not to expect any favours.
Sheehan said: “He has been saying to me that there’s going to be no friends on the field, because they’ve got to get the three points.
“But if we keep doing what we’ve been doing for the last couple of months, hopefully we’ll come out on top.”
Shaun Derry’s side looked dead and buried a few weeks ago, but a sensational run of six wins from eight games has pulled them out of the relegation zone.
Sheehan, 27, added: “A lot of people said we were down.
“But the manager had belief in the players and he never let anybody’s head drop.”
