Steven Jennings is desperate to avoid more last-day heartbreak with Tranmere when they face League One rivals Bradford.
The midfielder, 29, was part of the Rovers side that missed out on the play-offs in 2009 after conceding a last-minute equaliser in their final game against Scunthorpe.
This time, they are staring relegation in the face and must avoid defeat and hope results elsewhere go their way to stay up.
Jennings said: “Last time it was like a dagger to the heart. It was a terrible feeling.
“Now we’re at the wrong end of the table, if we can come out of it, it’d be like a cup final win.”
